Reginald E Bishop

Born March 9, 1940, in Brattleboro, Vermont, Reginald was the son of Ervin and Maxine (Ray) Bishop. Reg grew up in Wilmington, Vermont, where learning to swim on nearby Ray Pond introduced his great love of lakes. As a young man he enjoyed working on his car at his father's garage and engaging in many shenanigans with life long friends. Most importantly, it is here where he met the love of his life, Nancy Lucia Bishop. Married in 1965, they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. During that amazing journey, they raised two daughters and traveled far and wide, with a particular fondness for Alaska. They owned and operated several businesses in Middlebury, Vermont, including Green Mountain Tractor, where Reg enjoyed his employees, customers, and the early morning coffee crew. A lifelong member of the Masons, Reg was blessed to spend the last 15 years in retirement with three home bases. This allowed him to do the things he loved: spending time with family and all of his friends; playing with his four-wheeled toys in the woods and making trails for all to enjoy; being in Maine with his Brookton family gathered around the campfire for happy hour; hunting at his remote cabin in Hancock; and attending "Board of Directors" meetings. He was happiest most at camp in Maine, cooking dinner on his homemade grill surrounded by his wife, daughters, rambunctious grandsons and friends while offering priceless Reggie-isms such as, "Any fool can do what I do," "This has got good smoky flavor!" or "This is probably no good and tougher n'hell" to anyone within earshot. Reginald is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Nancy (Lucia) Bishop; his sister Jane Keane and husband Jack; his sister Sally Cross; his daughter Teri and husband Greg LaRock; his daughter Penny and husband Marc Ducharme; five grandsons, Addison, Garrett and Harris LaRock and Drake and Alden Ducharme; and by several cousins, nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service. For those wishing to honor his memory, his family encourages donations in his name to be made to the Brookton/ Forest City Community Center (care of Greg Maddocks, 366 US Highway 1, Brookton, Maine 04413) or to the Historical Society of Wilmington (P.O.
