Robert A. Robinson

Lyme, NH-Robert A, "Robbie" Robinson passed away after a brief illness on April 5, 2014. He was born December 26, 1940 on a snowy evening in Reading, Vt to Mae Robinson. He was raised by Elmer and Rose (Peoples) Robinson. His family moved to Pompanussic and he attended Norwich Elementary School and graduated from Hanover High School in 1958.He married Donna (Morris) Green on Jan 1, 1971, and they merged their families, living in Orford, NH. During that time he was Chief of the Orford Volunteer Fire Department, President of the Mutual Aid Association and a member of the Orford Fast Squad.They moved to Lyme where he, with the help of many friends, built the house that he lived in until his death.He worked for Trumbull-Nelson of Hanover in various positions for 42 years. His last full time employment was at the Montcalm Golf Course where he did landscaping and built stone walls, one of his favorite pastimes.He was a member of the Mt. Cube Lodge, F&AM and the Order of the Eastern Star in Orford and had served as an officer in both organizations.He is survived by his wife of 43 years, two sisters, Corrine Frenier and her husband Frank of Claremont, Cynthia Briggs and her husband Peter of Island Pond Vt, a son Robert W. Robinson, a daughter Rebecca Sue Robinson, two sons William E. Green IV and his wife Marilyn of Piermont, Thomas "Dan" Green and his wife Marlene and a daughter Kathryn L Green of Lyme, several grandchildren, nieces, cousins and one great-grandchild. He was pre-deceased by a daughter Cindy Robinson and two sons Clayton "Mark" Green and David M. Green.A graveside memorial and Masonic service will be held at the Lyme Highland Cemetery on May 14 at 2:00pm followed by an informal gathering at the Orford Masonic Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt.
