Cynthia Lu Stever Maurice of 259 Plateau Acres, Bradford, VT, died unexpectedly and peacefully, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on June 3rd, surrounded by her family. She was born December 20, 1958, to Bruce and Martina Day Stever. She attended Bradford Schools, graduating from Oxbow High School in 1976. Following graduation, she went to the Thompson School of Nursing in Brattleboro. She began her nursing career at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville,NH, and spent 10 years there. In 1980, she married Stephen Jerry. They had two children, Melissa And Timothy. She was divorced in 1989. She then became a nurse in Dr. Lance Osadchey's practice in her home town of Bradford. As the office expanded, it became Little Rivers Health Care, where she continued caring for patients for 24 years. On July, 7th, 2007, she married Raymond Maurice. “Cindy” was a very dedicated, loving , family oriented person, not only with people, but animals, as well. She always had a dog and some cats. Her kind spirit welcomed those needing a home, whether children or animals.
She is survived by husband, Raymond Maurice of North Carolina; Daughter, Melissa Jerry and partner, Josh Lapham of Bradford; Son, Timothy Jerry and wife, Nicole, of Bradford; Stepson, Keith Maurice, of Bradford aand Rachael Traendly. Brothers: Clark, of Burlington, Michael of Bradford, David, of Williston. Four grandchildren, Aubrey and Conner Jerry, Elijah Lapham and Lua B.Maurice. Mother, Martina Stever. An Aunt, Uncle, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Bruce Stever.
A celebration of life will be at the Bradford Congregational Church UCC, at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, June 29th.Burial will be in Sawyer Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Hale Funeral Home of Bradford, VT.
