North Haverhill, NH-Dorothy Lorraine (Willson) Dodge, 80, a resident of the Grafton County Nursing Home, went to be with the Lord on February 24, 2019.
She was born February 4, 1939 in Waterford, VT the daughter of Dean H. and Eula Mae (Hall) Willson. Dorothy grew up on her parent’s farm with her three siblings, Larry, Reginald and Linda. She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1957, and later took care of her grandparents Sam and Pearl Willson until 1970. In 1958 she married Maurice Cuthbertson Jr. and they had three children together. Maurice and Dorothy later divorced and she married Fred Dodge. She and Fred enjoyed 22 years of marriage before his passing in 2016.
In 1971, Dorothy became the hot lunch manager and cook at Newbury (VT) Elementary School, a position she held for 42 years. She loved to say before her retirement that she was feeding the grandchildren of children who were in school in Newbury. She was able to feed her own 2 nieces, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. She greatly missed serving her many kids at school.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Fred Dodge, brothers, Larry and Reginald Willson, her sister, Linda Cushing, her husband, George, a daughter-in-law, Carol Cuthbertson and her first husband, Maurice Cuthbertson on February 20, 2019.
Survivors include two sons, Maurice “Butch” Cuthbertson of Waterford, VT and Michael (Denise) Cuthbertson of Haverhill, NH, a daughter, Judith (Earl) Fuller of North Haverhill, NH, 10 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Her Life on March 23, 2019 at 1 pm at Newbury Elementary School. Graveside services and burial will be in the spring in Ladd Street Cemetery in Haverhill, NH. Hale Funeral Home, 187 Upper Plain, Bradford, VT is in charge of arrangements.
