    Christopher Mark Williams

    March 28, 1960 - June 2, 2011

Christopher Mark Williams, 51, of Newbury passed away Thursday, 02-June-2011 after a courageous, two-year long battle with brain cancer. Chris was born 28-March-1960 in New Haven Connecticut. Chris graduated from Edmund O'Brien Tech in Ansonia, Connecticut in June of 1978. In 1983, he married Denise Kranyik of Fairfield, Connecticut. The births of his daughters followed in 1988 and in 1990. Chris worked for many years as a designer for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, Connecticut, while maintaining a home in Vermont. He was a dedicated and loving father and husband. His family was his constant focus. His favorite saying was "family first, above all else." He lived those words. Always there to lend a hand, words of encouragement and support. Selfless and generous, he reveled in the accomplishments of his family and friends and stood by them in times of sadness. Family gatherings at his home were many and always filled with laughter and good times. He will be greatly missed by the numerous people who loved him. He had a encyclopedic knowledge and passion for US History. He was a member of the 27th Connecticut Volunteers Civil War re-enacting group and was also a French and Indian War re-enactor. He is survived by his loving wife, Denise Williams, his daughters Sarah Williams of Lynchburg, VA and Emily Williams of Newbury. He is also survived by his mother, Katherine McCoy of Delmar, Delaware, father Frank Williams of Corinth, Vermont, his older sister Renee (Williams) Dayton also of Delmar, Delaware and his younger brother, Jeffrey Williams of Westford, Vermont. He is also survived by his nephews, Sean Williams and Jesse Dayton and his niece Tracy Dayton, sister-in-law Cheryl Gallo, her husband Gregg, nephews Ryan and Justin Gallo of Stamford, CT, sister-in-law Heather Hull, her husband Jay and nephew Gavin and niece Caroline of Monroe, CT. Chris' family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to the Oncology team at the Norris Cotton Cancer Clinic at DHMC and Bayada Hospice of Norwich, VT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the above organizations in memory of Chris. A service celebrating his life will be held at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, North Haverhill, NH at 11:00 a.m. 11-June-2011. The Hale Funeral Home of Bradford, VT is in charge of arrangements.
