Clayton Wilson Sr

Post Mills, VT- Clayton L. Wilson Sr. 83, of Post Mills, VT died on Tuesday, September 1, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Clayton was born July 16, 1927 in Boscawen, NH the son of Fredrick and Hazel (MacFadden) Wilson. He served his country as a Merchant Seaman. Clayton was married to Barbara Caswell on May 7, 1962; they lived in Lake Worth, Florida before moving to Thetford, VT in 1974. He was employed as a house painter for many years and for more than ten years had worked at Dartmouth College in the Building and Grounds Department. Clayton enjoyed his work, fishing, but most of all his family and friends, he got great pleasure from visiting with people. The past few years he spent working on puppets with the third grade class at Thetford Elementary which he enjoyed imminencely He is survived by his wife Barbara of Post Mills, VT.; five sons, Jay Wilson and wife Tammy of Wilder, VT., Roy Wilson and Wife Jennifer of Wilder, VT., Clayton Wilson Jr. of North Smithfield, RI., Bruce Wilson of Bellington, MA., Jerry Wilson of Woonsocket, RI.; three daughters, Darin and husband Malcom Godfrey of Fairlee, VT., Linda Collard and Doreen Brown both of Woonsocket, RI., twenty-seven grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Higgins of Lantana, FL. He was predeceased by two sons, Stephen and Kevin, one daughter, Donna and three brothers, Clyde, Alton and Arthur and one sister, Peggy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 1 pm in the Post Mills Congregational Church with Rev. Roger Daum officiating. There are no calling hours. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Post Mills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Hospice of VT and NH, PO Box 976, WRJ, VT 05001.
