Daniel Lee Keating, born December 2, 1955 in Artesia, NM, passed away on November 10, 2021 at the Jack Byrne for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, NH, after a brief battle with cancer. Danny moved to Massachusetts with his family when he was two years old. He attended public schools in Chelmsford, Massachusetts and graduated from Chelmsford High school in 1973. Danny worked at Dana Wallboard for eight years and held various jobs around Massachusetts and Hawaii before moving to Vermont in 1997 where he started his own plastering business. Dan’s Plastering was a very successful business with customers throughout Vermont and New Hampshire. From a young age, Danny had many hobbies including Harry’s football league, Silver Mittens boxing and little league baseball. He was also an outstanding 3rd baseman in the Chelmsford Modified Pitch Men’s Softball League. Danny was outgoing and enjoyed jamming out and dancing to music of all genres. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, golfing and riding his Harley. He belonged to the Stoney Brook Fish & Game Club in Westford, MA and the East Corinth Masonic Lodge. Danny loved watching football with friends and family in his garage, A.K.A. “Patriot’s Headquarters.” Danny was a gentle soul who helped anyone and everyone from babies to senior citizens, homeless and just anyone who was in need. He especially loved Christmas and giving unique toys and gifts to family and friends that always put a smile on your face. Danny lived life to the fullest and he enriched the lives of all those who knew him. To know Danny was to love him! He is survived by his son Daniel Scott Keating, four grandchildren, Christine, Daniel a.k.a “Stewy," Cassidy & Mathew, his mother, Nadine Keating, and six siblings; Randy (Allison) Keating, Gerard (Gina) Keating, Sandy (Ken) Alton, Susan Leckey, Kenny (Lisa) Keating, Sheila Keating (Ken Mosholder). Nieces and nephews, Tarran Sparrow, Nathan Keating, Gerard Keating III, Kelley Keating, Meghan Keating, Hannah Clavelle, Grace Leckey, Rick Gagnon, and Joe McCarthy “a brother from another mother.” He is predeceased by his father Gerard Keating Sr., and his great niece, Lydia Wood. The family would like to thank the staff at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, NH. We are incredibly grateful for their compassionate and attentive care to Danny throughout his time there.
