    Elna Dwinell Ilsley

    April 27, 1948 - April 30, 2022

    Elna Dwinell Ilsley – Passed into Glory at home, surrounded by family, early Saturday morning, April 30th, 2022 in Bradford, Vermont. Born Elna Marie Dwinell, April 27, 1948 at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH to Pauline Wood Dwinell and Berton Wood Dwinell, both Bradford, VT natives. She was predeceased by her parents and grandson Valor Michael Pierce Jenkins. Elna graduated from Upper Moreland High School outside Philadelphia in 1966, and then Penn State in 1970. A polio survivor, from the age of five, she loved music and played both bassoon and piano. She married Henry Hartley Ilsley, of Woodsville, NH, in August, 1971.They had three children. Elna is survived by her husband, and their children: Heather McCullough Price (Stephen), Bethany Dwinell Jenkins (Mike), Timothy Farrell Ilsley, and grandchildren Rianne McCullough, Nick Price, Cara McCullough, Noah Price, Clay Ilsley, Sawyer Ilsley, Clarke-True Ilsley, Talon Jenkins, Alaster Jenkins. She is also survived by her siblings: Joie Fitzpatrick (Charles), Stephanie Conrad (Gary), Dewey Dwinell (Sharon) and 21 loving nieces and nephews from all sides of the family who she regularly crushed at word games and numerous great nieces and nephews. Elna retired from Alice Peck Day Hospital as lab manager after a long and satisfying career in Laboratory Medicine, including many years at Cottage Hospital where her grandfather Dr. Franklin Pierce Dwinell and uncle Dr. Stanley Dwinell also served. Elna was a member of the Bradford Evangelical Free Church in Bradford, VT where she cherished the fellowship and love of other believers in Jesus Christ her Savior. Elna was well known for her generous loving heart, her sewing skills, and her congo bars. She enjoyed her annual Girls Week with her sisters, her camping trips with her husband and any time she could spend with her grandchildren who called her Bama.
