KENNETH L.THURSTON Bradford, VT-Kenneth Lewis Thurston, 86, passed away on August 26, 2016, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Jct., VT. Born at the family home on South Road in Bradford, VT. on May 5, 1930, he was the son of Charles E and Eva (Page) Thurston. Kenneth attended elementary schools in Bradford and graduated from Bradford Academy He served his country by enlisting in the US Army. He worked at several jobs, most memorable being road foreman in Bradford for several years. He loved working in the woods and helping friends and family with their winter wood supply. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and brought home his share of meat and fish for the table. He enjoyed baseball, He also played softball for the Central Supply softball team years ago. In his later years Kenneth enjoyed playing cribbage at the OESC in Bradford and walking to Kinney Drugstore, Bradford Post Office, Merchants Bank and Hannaford's to see his "special ladies" there. In January, Hanover Terrace Health Care in Hanover, NH, became his new home. He loved everyone who worked there and he got excellent care from them. Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, 11 brothers and 6 sisters and wife Patricia. He is survived by 2 brothers, Forrest A. Thurston, Sr. of Bradford, VT and Norman (Peter) C. Thurston Sr. of Newport, VT, one sister, Maxine Burgess of Bradford and one sister-in-law, Ramona Thurston of Warren, NH, and daughter Janet Sharp, her husband Donnie, two grandchildren Kathy and Donnie, Jr.,one great grandson, Cody, and many nieces and nephews. Following Kenneth's wishes, there will be no services. Please remember him in your own way.
