Margaret "Peggy" Fuller Pierson

July 12, 1930 - November 13, 2015

East Corinth, VT- Margaret "Peggy" Fuller Shearer Pierson, 85, passed away Nov 13, 2015 at the Arbors Senior Living at Shelburne VT, with her family by her side, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Peggy was born in Woodsville, NH on July 12, 1930 to Richard and Juanita Shearer of Bradford VT, where she grew up and attended Bradford Academy. Peggy was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, John Pierson Jr. and her daughter Wendy Jo Pierson, 54, of Hinesburg VT. She is survived by her children; Alan Pierson Franchot and wife Angie Jacobs of Richmond VT, Kaye Pierson and husband Dave Leonard of Pinehurst NC, Steve Pierson and wife Robin of Stowe, VT and Wade Pierson and wife Terri of East Corinth VT. In addition, Peggy has seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a brother and a sister, Richard Shearer of Virginia Beach VA and Lou Chase of Bradford VT. Peggy lived in Bradford until marriage and then moved to East Corinth re she resided and raised her family. She had several occupations in her lifetime; Medical Health Assistant at the Valley Health Center, operated a small greenhouse, Corinth Town Clerk as well as other various jobs. Peggy enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, maple sugaring, skiing, and camping as well as outdoor cooking. Avid lifetime badminton players, Peggy and John participated in many Senior Olympics and also taught badminton to middle school students at Waits River Valley Elementary School for years. Peggy was a long time booster of local high school sports, including basketball (boys and girls), softball and soccer. Animal husbandry was also a favorite pastime that included raising horses, chickens and livestock. When Peggy wasn't working at home, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the Shearer family camp and pond.Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov 20 at 1 pm in the East Corinth Congregational Church.
