Fairlee, VT- Patricia Maureen (Crafts) Ackerman, 85, of Fairlee, VT died on August 26, 2015 at Brookside Nursing Home in Wilder, VT.She was born in Southwick, MA on November 8, 1929 the daughter of Maurice Warren Crafts and Henrietta May Hebbel. She attended Teck High School in Springfield, MA, and graduated from Community College of Vermont in 1977 and from Johnson State College on May 18, 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Library Science. She had been employed at Thetford Elementary School for twenty two years as a librarian. She was married on October 7, 1950 in Springfield, MA to Calvin Louis Ackerman who predeceased her on March 10, 2010.She has been a member of the Fairlee Community Church of Christ since 1958, was a past deacon and also a Sunday School Teacher., and was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, a Cub Scout Den Mother, also a member of the Recreation Council.Patty loved sports following her sons and grandchildren from elementary school up thru college and attended all school activities. She was an avid reader, loved playing cards and games. Patty and Calvin loved camping and enjoyed traveling to all fifty states and Alaska. She spent winters since 2001 in Sebring, Florida at Tanglewood Resort Community where she had many beloved friends.She is survived by two sons, Michael Ackerman and his wife Glenna of North Haverhill, NH and Peter Ackerman and his wife Roann of Bradford, VT; three grandchildren, Ryan , Amanda and Matthew ; three great-grandchildren, Dakota, Ethan and Gavin. She was predeceased by one brother, Russell Crafts.A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2 pm in the Fairlee Community Church of Christ with Rev. Richard Hodge officiating. There are no calling hours.
