Roselle H. Smith, 94, resident of Bradford, Vermont, passed away peacefully, Feb 21 at Cottage Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Bangor, Maine, Nov 15, 1918, the daughter of Estelle and George Baker. Sister to Edwin, Carlton, Arnold, Shirley and Marguerite. Roselle moved to Boston, Mass at the age of 18yrs and later married Norman Bigney. She was the widow of her second husband Erland Smith who passed in 1983. Roselle lived in Hamilton, Massachusetts for many years and enjoyed an active lifestyle and many friendships. She loved animals and was an avid and fearless horseback rider. Her many interests included cross country skiing, running, travel and frequenting local restaurants where she enjoyed the camaraderie. She was survived by two daughters, Kristina Smith of Vermont, Carole Lane and her husband Michael of Mass; four grandchildren, Bill Lane, his wife Theresa and daughter Lauren of New Hampshire, Michael Lane of Maine and his children Katie and Andrew Lane, Lisa Lane of Mass. and Zachary Bubany and his wife Melissa of North Carolina. A memorial service will not be held per her request. The Hale Funeral Home of Bradford, VT is in charge of arrangements.
