    Timothy Ian Moore

    November 15, 1956 - August 4, 2016

    Bradford, VT - Timothy Ian Moore passed away at his home in Bradford on Thursday afternoon, August 4th, at the age of 59.Tim was born on November 15th, 1956 in Hanover, New Hampshire. He was the son of Richard and Emilie (Major) Moore. He graduated from Woodstock High School in 1974 and matriculated to Dartmouth College, where he graduated with a bachelor of arts in 1978.While in college, he started his lifelong career as a fire fighter by joining the Hanover Fire Department. In addition to working at Hanover, he was also a former chief and lifetime member of the Thetford Fire Department, a former deputy fire chief of the Bradford Fire Department, and most recently a member of the Vershire fire department and captain of the Corinth fire department. Tim also loved to teach, and was a longtime instructor for the Vermont Fire Academy, and taught fire fighting at Vermont Technical College. Professionally, he was most proud his role in helping to save a family on November 26th, 2002, when their car smashed through the side of the Sayers Bridge.He married Brenda Hill in March of 1991 in Thetford Center. They later moved to Bradford, where he enjoyed spending time working on their farm with his three German Shepherds. He also loved playing with his grandson and taking him for Gator rides around the farm.Tim was predeceased by his parents, and was survived by his wife, Brenda Moore, stepdaughter Rebecca Stearns and her husband Steven Stearns, stepson Nathaniel Hill, grandson Matheson Stearns, sister Carol Garland, brother Brian Moore and his wife Tamara Moore, sister-in-law Carole Bean of Bradford, VT as well as several nieces and nephews.Calling hours are being held at Hale Funeral Home in Bradford, Vermont on Friday, August 12th from 5 pm- 7 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 10 am at the Thetford Hill Fire Station with reception to follow.
