Victor John Piersa
November 25, 1918 - August 14, 2014
Victor was drafted to the Army in 1942 where he served in England, Omaha Beach, France, Belgium, and Germany until he returned to New Britain in 1947. He was a technical sergeant for the Army Corp of Engineers in Aviation where he helped to build runways and landing sites for allied aircraft. He was a master carpenter by profession and retired to Corinth, VT in 1983. He lovingly remodeled their farmhouse on Turkey Hill and loved gardening, nature, and his beautiful Vermont land which reminded him of his youth in Poland. He was an active member of the Riverside Grange for many years and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help prior to moving to St. Lucian's Residence in New Britain, CT, in 2012. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 19th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bradford, VT at 11 am. There are no calling hours. Burial will follow in the Corinth Center Cemetery in Corinth, VT The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
