ROYALTON- Amanda K. Carpenter, passed away on July 15, 2023 at the age of 41 years old. A beautiful soul has left this world to be with her brother, wrapped in the loving arms of our Lord.
She attended Thetford Elementary School and graduated from Thetford Academy. She had amazing athletic talent in both basketball and fast-pitch softball. She was an amazing fast-pitch softball pitcher when it was just arriving in the Upper Valley. She brought Thetford Academy to a state championship with her incredible pitching as her sister, Amy caught for her. After graduating high school, she worked briefly at Valley Terrace in Wilder, Vt where her gift of compassion and empathy was especially profound. In later years, she has been working with her father in the family business “Dave’s Window Cleaning”. She had hoped to take the business over eventually.
Mandy was a strong, caring, smart, funny, beautiful sister, daughter, friend, and mother. Mandy loved her two children, Zachary and Lexis Duncan. They meant the world to her. Her other love was her many pets.
She leaves behind her two children, Zachary and Lexis Duncan, her mother, Beverly Carpenter and Michael Hall of Thetford Center, VT, her father, W. David Carpenter and Lisa Carpenter of Tunbridge, Vt, her sister, Amy Carpenter of Tunbridge, Vt and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brother, W. Andrew Carpenter of Thetford Center, Vt.
Mandy endured many struggles during her life, one of which was addiction. She fought hard against this demon and would want everyone to know that this disease is real. The family asks that donations in Mandy's memory be made to Upper Valley Turning Point, 200 Olcott Drive, White River Junction, VT 05001, or to South Royalton Rescue Squad, 53 Strafford Street, South Royalton, VT 05068.
Please hold onto the ones you love and take a moment today and every day to appreciate those who mean the most to you.
