Barry Pierce Phelps

Topsham, VT- Barry Pierce Phelps, 48, of Phelps Road in Topsham died on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at his home after a long illness. He was born on September 11, 1962 the son of William and Carol ( Drew) Phelps. He attended schools in Thetford, VT and was a 1980 graduate of Thetford Academy. Barry was Auto Body men at Gateway Ford in White River Jct., VT until his illness force him to retire in 2002. He enjoyed sports-especially the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics, he loved playing softball, was an avid race fan, loved snowmobiling, and most of all enjoyed his family. He is survived by his parents, William and Carol Phelps; brothers and sister in laws, Bradley and Sharon Phelps, Mitchell and Valeria Phelps, Dennis and Denise Phelps, William Jr. and Foster Phelps; one daughter, Nicole Phelps; two grandchildren, Jayme and Zachary; and his dear friend and companion, Christine Martin, many nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by one brother, Christopher Phelps. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 10 am in the North Thetford Federated Church in North Thetford, VT with Rev. Gail Dimick officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Hale Funeral Home, Route 113, Thetford Center, VT. The Hale Funeral Home of Thetford Center, VT is in charge of arrangements.
