Bertha Loomis

Bradford, VT- Bertha May Loomis, 92, of Bradford died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at her home in Bradford. She was born in Orfordville, NH on December 5, 1918 the daughter of Forrest and Jennie Tallman. She was married on December 24, 1937 to Herman Henry Loomis he predeceased her on January 23, 2005 they had been married for Sixty-seven years. In her early years she lived in Pike, NH and had worked at the Lake Tarleton Club in Piermont, she then moved to Bradford, VT and worked for many years at Hill's Five and Ten in Bradford. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren especially enjoyed fishing with them. She is survived by one son, Russell J. Loomis and his wife Linda of Barre, VT.; one daughter, Barbara Francis of Saratoga Springs, NY; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren , several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 1 pm at Hale Funeral Home, Upper Plain, Bradford, VT. Visiting hours will be held from 12-1 pm prior to the service. Burial will be held in the spring in the family lot in the Sawyer Cemetery in Bradford, VT.
