On July 8, 1956 he married Martina Day of Piermont, NH. He worked as Service and Parts Manager briefly at Lamontagne Motors and Perry's Garage, then at Blake Chevrolet for 28 years. He was manager of Stever's Car Wash until his retirement in 1992. He played trumpet in a dance band, The Rythmaires, in the 50's and 60's. He was a charter member of the Connecticut Valley Jaycees, serving as Vice President. He was one of the founders and a director of the Connecticut Valley Development Corporation. He served as a Village Trustee from 1968 - 1980. He is a 63 year member of the Bradford Congregational U.C.C. where he served as a Trustee of Trust Funds. He has received his 55 year pin from Charity Lodge #43 F & M of Bradford. He is also a member of the Bradford Community Club and was President for five years. He and his wife were members of the 251 Club and had visited 213 VT Towns. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Joan Bednarski and sister-in-law Nancy Day Taplin. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Martina; daughter Cynthia Maurice and her husband Raymond of Bradford, three sons: Clark and his wife Beth of Vergennes, Michael and Jackie of Bradford, David and Lisa of Williston. Five grandchildren, Melissa, Timothy Jerry and wife Nicole, Athena and Natalia Stever and Brianna Pelletier, two great grandchildren Aubrey and Conner Jerry, brother Melvin Stever and wife Shirley, brother-in-law Kenneth Taplin and several nieces and nephews and cousins. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at the Bradford Congregational Church UCC Monday August 12, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the family plot in Sawyer Cemetery at a later date. There are no calling hours.
