Atruly free spirit outpaced its mortal counterpart on July 5, 2016. He was at his home in Piermont, NH. He was 43.A formal education in journalism from Messiah College in Grantham, PA where he received a Bachelor's Degree in 1995 properly wetted an appetite for knowledge that was never quenched.To know Freeman was to know a man of uncompromising personality, whose mind was shaped through the literary greats and even greater real world exploration.An avid world traveler who experienced five continents, Freeman was never confused for a tourist. He loved to discover the people and landscapes that fell outside the margins.Though not to be defined by his career, Freeman was a skilled writer, farmer, teacher and stonemason.His recreation was vast but included sailing, basketball and whenever graced with a blanket of white powder, snowboarding. Whether carving down Piermont Mountain logging roads or dropping down the headwall of Mt. Washington's Tuckerman's Ravine, Freeman was in his element.He loved and lived his life to the fullest or as Free would say," Sucked from the very marrow of life".Survivors include his two loving parent, Lyman and Betty Sue Robie, his adoring girlfriend Bridget McElhiney, three brothers, Neil and wife Janene, Timothy and wife Jessica, Mark and wife Elaina, four nieces and nephews; Eli, Ellis, Lisette and Orrin; grandparents, Freeman and Winona Robie and many aunts, uncles and cousins.A celebration of Freeman's life will be held on July 16, 2016 at 3 pm at the Robie Farm on Route 10 in Piermont, NH.
