“Devoted wife, mother and Meme”
BRADFORD-Carline E Swift, 74, died Wednesday September 27th, 2023, at her Bradford home with her family by her side.
Carline was born May 18th, 1949, in Newport, NH to Nancy M Fowler and Carl E Fowler. Carline loved tending to her flowers/gardens, animals in the wild and bird watching, was an avid reader which was her favorite leisure time, traveling, history, enjoyed swimming, baking delicious muffins, cookies and whoopie pies for her family. Other hobbies included traveling and finding treasures whether it was at a thrift store or walking through the woods. Most importantly, spending time with her family, her grandkids and great grandkids brought her so much joy and love and she was so happy to have a little great granddaughter born this year.
Carline married Ronald “Ron” Swift on June 9th, 1969. They loved each other years before their marriage and were married for 53 years. They enjoyed riding motorcycles and going on adventures by each other’s side. When Ron became ill Carline was by his side, years of caring for him, rehabilitating him, taking places, and making sure he spent time with family and friends.
They were blessed with one child, Shannon Swift, on October 7th, 1969. Carline enjoyed quiet time with her daughter, sharing her knowledge of flowers, birds, and gardening. During her last week’s Shannon drove her mom through their old neighborhood of Union Village, rt 5 and rt 10 while Carline reminisced and shared many stories that brought her happiness.
Carline worked for Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in the administration, she acquired her license as a pharmaceutical technician and worked for many years at K-Mart. She was known for her kindness, attentiveness, and the ability to brighten everyone’s day. So many people commented on her always smiling face and friendly hello.
Carline is survived by her husband, Ronald Swift, her daughter, Shannon Marie Swift, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many family and friends.
She will be remembered for being selfless, smiling everywhere she went and how she loved with her whole heart “the kindest woman we’ve ever known”.
