Fairlee, VT- Clyde A. Sleeper, 91 of Fairlee, VT and a long time resident of Corinth, VT passed away at the home of his daughter in Fairlee, VT. Clyde was born in Norwich, VT to Alice and Clarence Sleeper. He grew up in Vershire, VT where he met and married Pauline M. Carter. They were married in Vershire, VT on Christmas Eve in 1944. They raised their family in Vershire before moving to Corinth, VT. Throughout his life time Clyde worked in the Logging industry, in sawmills, farming, mowing roadsides and in his later years he was a furniture maker at T. Copeland & Son in Bradford, VT. Clyde is survived by his son, Henry Sleeper on Bradford, VT, his son Ric and wife Barbara Sleeper of fairlee, VT and his daughter ,Sally Slack and husband Bruce of Fairlee, VT; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, an infant son, and his youngest son, Alfred Sleeper in an automobile accident. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 2-4 pm at the home of his Son, Ric Sleeper, 1786 Morris Roberts Highway, Fairlee, VT 05045. There are no calling hours. Burila will be private and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Orange East Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, 176 Waits River Road, Bradford, VT 05033.
