Bradford, VT - Connie Rae Curtis, 77, a longtime resident of Bradford, died on Thursday, April 2, at her home with Pat and Bob Benjamin in Bradford. Born on July 31, 1937, Connie was the daughter of Floyd and Julia (Harvey) Curtis of Rochester, VT. She lived in Rochester, VT until 1983 when she moved to Bradford. Connie was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Bradford. She enjoyed working, and through the years she held a number of part-time jobs. Later in life she enjoyed volunteering in the kitchen at the Piermont Village School and working with Linda Lee. Connie was well known around town for her sense of style, her collection of hats and handbags and her "wicked" sense of humor. She never hesitated to let you know what she thought and was always ready to give a hug. Connie loved animals, fireworks and going out to eat; she especially loved "going to the mini" and visiting with all of her many friends there. On warm sunny days in the summer, you might see Connie with one of her many hats on cruising to the "Mini Mart" with Bob in his little blue car. Connie shared her brother's interest in automobiles and could identify many makes, models and years. She and Larry made many happy memories cruising around the county side together. Connie is survived by her brother Larry, of Rochester, VT, whom she adored, Pat and Bob Benjamin and their families, her housemate, Sharon Fenoff, and her special friend and long-time companion, Julie Baker of Groton, VT She is predeceased by her parents and a half-brother, Floyd Maxfield, and her long time friend/caregiver Rose Lizotte. Special thanks and recognition to the staff of Upper Valley Services of Bradford; the Upper Valley VNA and Hospice of VT and N.H., and Denise Morse, LNA and Connie's longtime friend who dedicated many hours to Connie's care during her final illness.
