Daniel David Rathburn

Bradford, VTDaniel David Rathburn of North Main Street Bradford passed away unexpectedly Saturday at his home following a period of declining health. He was 68.Born on January 12, 1946 in Woodsville, NH he was the son of Delbert C. and Evelyn Mary (Cilley) Rathburn.Daniel grew up in South Newbury and was a graduate of Newbury High School.At age 17, he entered the US Army and served as a truck driver and was stationed in Germany for most of his enlistment.Over the years, he worked at various places including Pratt's Oil Company and he retiredAs a carpenter with McCarthy Construction Company.He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed reading about history.Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by a brother Donald Rathburn and a sister Barbara Coffin.He is survived by his brother Otis Rathburn and his wife Sylvia of South Newbury and several nieces and nephews including Debi Reeves and her husband Bill of Lyme, NH.There are no services scheduled.Arrangements are entrusted to Hale Funeral Homes and Cremation Care of Bradford & Thetford, VT.Online guestbook at www.halefuneralhomes.com
