Darlene S Welch

Darlene S. Welch of Downing Road passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, August 3, 2014 at her home. She was 55. Born on November 19, 1958 in Barre, VT, she was the daughter of Harold Edgar and Shirley Mae (Downing) White. Darlene was a lifelong resident of the Corinth-Topsham area. She attended East Topsham Elementary School and Oxbow High School in Bradford. On May 27, 1978, she married Gene Allen Welch, Sr. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked on the family dairy farm at Taplin Hill. For the past 19 years, she worked for Gladstone Farms as a manager during the Pumpkin harvest in the fall. Darlene enjoyed Nascar, gardening, listening to country music, berry picking, and spending time with her family. Besides her father, she is pre-deceased by a son in law Ned Hayward and step father Henry Montandon. She is survived by her husband of 36 years Gene A. Welch, Sr. of East Topsham, her mother Shirley M. (Downing) White of Topsham Four children Brooke Hayward of Topsham, Gene E. Welch and wife Jennifer of Topsham, George J. Welch Sr., of Corinth and Justin G. Welch of Corinth. Six Step-Children Gene Welch, Jr and wife Cathy of Corinth, Donnie Welch and wife Tina of Topsham, Floyd Welch and wife Lisa of Topsham, Robert Welch, Sr and wife Heather of Topsham, David Welch and wife Stacey of Danville, and Jeffrey Welch and wife Donna of Topsham. Four grandchildren, 17 Step-grandchildren, and 18 Great-Grandchildren. A brother Henry Montandon III of Topsham. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Funeral Service will be held at 10am Thursday, August 7 at East Topsham Presbyterian Church in East Topsham. Rev. Candace RIcker will officiate. Burial will be at East Topsham Cemetery.
