David lived most of his life in Vermont and attended the Brandon Training School in the early 1970's and again in the early 1980's. He moved to the Bradford area in January, 1993. David received supports through Upper Valley Services in Bradford, VT. He shared his life with two families, first with Karen Culbertson and her family for 5 years and most recently for the past 13 years with Linda and Steve Lindberg of Vershire, VT. He held several part-time jobs over the years, working at the Fairlee Marina, the Connecticut River Redemption Center and at the Bliss Village Store. In the past few years he started his own egg delivery business. He is predeceased by his Mother, Elizabeth Rice, his father Perly Rice, and two sisters Barbara and Leeann Rice. He is survived by his sister Margaret, two brothers, John and Paul Rice, a niece Connie and her husband Frank Bolster all who reside in Rutland, VT area. David was very much loved and respected by all who knew him. He had an infectious smile, a great sense of humor and always welcomed those he knew with a friendly handshake or hug. He loved taking trips with the Lindberg's. In 2009 they went to Wyoming to see the Buffalo Bill Cody's Museum and he visited the site of Custard's Last Stand. He enjoyed reading DVD Magazines and had a big collection of his own DVD's. He loved watching Western's and was an avid fan of the Three Stooges. He knew many of there short films by heart. David will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice in David's name. Services will be held at the Hale Funeral Home in Bradford, VT on Thursday April 21, 2011, at 11:00am with a reception following at Upper Valley Services. There are no calling hours.
