Topsham, VT- Donald E. Jones, 67, of Topsham passed away peacefully at his home on October 21, 2010. He was born in Mt. Kisco, NY the son of Elmer and Martha (Davis) Jones. Donald grew up in Pound Ridge, NY and attended Lewisboro Elementary School and John Jay High School in Crossriver, NY. He was employed by Marshall Oil Company in Pound Ridge, NY before moving to Vermont in 1998, he then was employed by Bond Auto Parts in 2006 and recently retired in September of 2010. He was also a volunteer Fire fighter for nine years for the Vista, NY Fire House. Don enjoyed Nascar racing, Hot Rods and spending time with his family. He is survived by his long time companion of twenty-four years, Karen Moore of Topsham, VT; one daughter, Denise and husband Shane Thurston of Corinth, VT.; one son, Dennis Jones and companion Karen Dubois of Topsham, VT.; one granddaughter, Shania Thurston of Corinth, VT..; two sisters, Diane Kisken of Norwalk, CT and Lynn and husband John Jessup of Pound Ridge, NY, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday October 26, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Hale Funeral Home, Upper Plain, Bradford, VT. There are no other services. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the Tri Village Fire Department, Topsham, VT.
