Fairlee, VT- Donald E. Randall died peacefully on August 3, 2016.Don began his life in Lowell, MA, the son of Everett and RuthRandall. He enjoyed a successful career in thebusiness which took him from Chicago, IL to Kent Ohio and lastly, to Dartmouth College where he was Director of the Food Service for many years. He particularly enjoyed running the DOC House Restaurant in the summer months.Cooking was Don's passion. He was always ready to prepare a meal for family and friends. His prime rib, oyster stew and lobster bisque were better than any you could get in a restaurant.Don'shobbies included fishing, boating, gardening and restoring antique cars. He also enjoyed spending time and traveling with his cousin Gerry and his wife, Ruthie.Don had a good sense of humor; his subtle, but dry wit often caught you off guard, but made you laugh. He also enjoyed a good practical joke, once placing an ad stating that firewood would be delivered, cut and split, for a ridiculous price...and he included a friend's phone number. Most recently, Don was honored with his 50 year Masonic Veteran's Medal at the Mount Cube Masonic Lodge in Orford, NH. In his retirement, he was active with the Masons, becoming Master of the Mt. Cube Lodge and he served as Sword Bearer for his long time friend Woody, during his tenure as Master of the New Hampshire Grand Lodge.Don was a key organizer of the annual Masonic Antique Car Show, proudly presenting his 1940 Pontiac Business Coupe.Don was predeceased by his wife Norma and his sisters Beverly and Norma.
