Eleanor (Ellie) Dawn Roberts

Eleanor Dawn Roberts (Ellie) of West Fairlee, VT passed away unexpectedly in an automobile accident on Thursday, November 03, 2022. Ellie was born on September 02, 1962, the daughter of the late Daniel West Roberts and Verna Mae (Clark) Roberts of West Fairlee, VT. She spent her childhood growing up in West Fairlee. Graduating from Thetford Academy in 1980. She met her husband Allan S. Ordway and they were married in 1981. Together they started their family in Newbury, VT and later they moved back to her hometown of West Fairlee where they raised their two daughters Stephanie and Ashley. As her children grew, Ellie furthered her education, graduating from VTC’s Nursing Program with her LPN. Ellie was a hard worker, devoted mother, loved daughter and sister, exceptional grandmother, a true friend, and a very compassionate person. Ellie would give the shirt off her back or the last dollar in her wallet to help someone in need.
Ellie held a variety of positions in the healthcare field from EMS to most recently working at DHMC in patient registration which she truly enjoyed. Ellie truly was a kind soul and made friends with everyone she met. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, gardening, baking, making fudge which she had a true knack for. Fishing, shopping, spending time at the ocean which was her favorite pastime, and most importantly spending time with her family. Ellie was a dedicated Teamster from a very young age working steers on the family farm across New England. She was a 4-H leader for many years and enjoyed watching her Daughters, Niece, Nephews, and grandchildren raise and work their steers. Ellie was predeceased by her father Daniel West Roberts in 1993. Ellie is survived by her mother Verna Clark Roberts of West Fairlee, VT, Daughters Stephanie Ordway and Fiancé Eric Gilbert of Vershire, VT, Ashley Ordway of West Fairlee, VT, Sister Rebecca and Husband Michael Wood of West Fairlee, VT, Brother Daniel Roberts II and Wife Gail of Corinth, VT, Twin Grandchildren Harold Ballou IV and Alyson Ballou and Joshua Benjamin of Ver shire, VT, Granddaughters Elsa Ordway, Ava Pease, Zoey Coburn, and Grandson Lane Pease of West Fairlee, VT. Nephews Tyler Wood and Partner Jasmine Poirer of Bradford, VT, Niece Brianna and Husband Logan Gardyne of Boscawen, NH, Nephew Joseph (JoeFISH) Wood and Wife Shay of Vershire, VT, Nieces Renee and Husband Kyle Satchell of Hoosick Falls NY and Rachel Roberts of Corinth, VT along with a Great Nephew Theodore Gardyne of Boscawen, NH. Her Daughter's father Alan Ordway of West Fairlee, VT, and a Best Friend Jonathan Reid of Wakefield, MA. Calling hours will be held on Saturday November 19, 2022, from 4-8 pm at the Roberts Farm on 1 Roberts Road; West Fairlee, VT. Per Ellie’s wishes there will only be a graveside service which will be held on Sunday November 20, 2022 at 2 pm at the North Thetford Cemetery with a reception to follow at the North Thetford Church.
