Elizabeth Ann "Bette" (Lund) Hodge of Lime Kiln Road passed away Sunday Morning (March 15, 2015) at Central Vermont Hospital following a period of declining health. She was 69. Born on August 25, 1945 in Barre, VT, she was the daughter of Webster S. and Elizabeth (Miller) Lund. Bette grew up in the Orange-Barre area and attended school in Orange and then Spaulding High School in Barre. On August 25, 1962, she married William Robert Hodge I and together they made their home in Topsham. Over the years, she was employed at Sprague Electric, Channel Mills, Waits River Valley School, the Stagecoach, Orange County Sheriff's Office. She also provided Loving Home Care for Adults in her home. She was a member of the Topsham Historical Society and enjoyed collecting Antique Post cards, crafts, gardening, caring for her beloved cat Shadow, and spending time with family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered for caring of family, lending a hand, and for being a driving force who could always get things done. Besides her parents, she is pre-deceased by a brother Thomas Lund. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years William Hodge I of East Topsham, three sons William Hodge II and wife Sharon of Appomattox, VA, Gregory Hodge and friend Sherry Ewell of Westbrook, ME, and Bradley Hodge and wife Jennifer O'Brien of Lake Stevens, WA; several grandchildren & one great-grandchild; sister Margaret Willey of Plainfield, VT, brother Richard Lund of Lincoln, CA, several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at the family lot in East Topsham Cemetery at a later date.
