Fay A. Sanborn

Fay A. Sanborn, 79, passed away at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on Thursday, January 10, 2013. She was born to Donald and Flora Stewart on January 3, 1934 in Oxford, Connecticut. She married William Sanborn, Sr on July 8, 1952 in Thetford, VT. They lived most of their married life in Thetford, VT. She worked in The Maple Sugar House Gift Shop in E. Thetford in the 1950's. She also worked in Wing's Deli and Isabell's Cafe in E. Thetford, VT. In the early 1990's, she opened The Lunch Box at her home where she served subs to many locals, including many of her grandchildren's classmates. Fay loved trips to Maine, enjoying the ocean and lobster/clam bakes on the beach. She also enjoyed camping at Fryeburg Fair for several years. She loved to do crafts, baking, crocheting and sewing. Most of all, Fay enjoyed putting on bbq's and dinners for her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of E. Thetford, her son William,Jr and wife, Corrine; grandson Troy Sanborn and fiancAC.e, Kathy; granddaughter Ashley Bird and husband, Chris. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Stewart of Missouri;two great-grandsons, Reese and Addison Sanborn and several nieces and nephews. Hale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
