Batchelder in Fairlee, VT. She spent her childhood years working alongside her five siblings on the family farm. She attended Orford High School where she excelled in shop and home economics she graduated from Bradford Academy in 1970. She married Dean Chase in 1970 and lived in Bradford all of her adult life. She began her working career at Bradford National Bank and later helped her husband run a Montgomery Ward's franchise. She then found her niche in the Insurance field working over twenty years, first at Taylor-Palmer and later at O'Dell Insurance. She enjoyed hiking and biking with friends, snowmobiling, and camping with family. Gail enjoyed many "sister trips" in which, she was designated driver, as she was the courageous one that dared drive the big city streets. Gail loved music. Her sons have many fond memories of her singing and dancing around the house with the radio up loud while she tended to her beautiful home. Gail was a kind and strong mother. Her sons, and then her grandchildren meant everything to her. She would selflessly give or do whatever was needed, and was never asked. Gail made many friends over the years and was a true caring friend to all. Her kind spirit and beautiful smile will be missed.Gail was a shy person, but her determination in her adult years led to a fulfilling life. Teaching Sunday school when her boys were young, teaching all three sons how to ski, and later taking her three young granddaughters camping. Gail also enjoyed travelling. She made trips to Florida, Aruba, St. Martin and Italy to name a few. She was an excellent seamstress from a young age, making dolls, clothes, costumes, and handmade Christmas gifts. She would also create handmade Halloween costumes for the entire family annually. Her greatest joy was having her family gather at the home she loved. Gail loved tending to her many beautiful flower gardens all summer long, and also enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and all types of games with family and friends. She was the best "Grammy" and loved watching her three oldest granddaughters grow up before her eyes as they lived next door. In later years when she was ill she still spent every ounce of energy she had on caring for or having adventures with her six grandchildren.Gail fought a tenacious battle with cancer for many years and never complained. We all are and forever will be in awe over her outrageous strength, courage and perseverance.Gail is survived by her three sons.
