CORINTH-Gail M. Davis-Born in Rochester, NY on June 13, 1926, passed peacefully on September 24, 2023, at 97 years old.
Gail was a lover of life. Everyone who knew her was always struck by her positive attitude and never-ending youthful outlook. She enjoyed quilting, her weekly Tai Chi class and taking care of her house and yard. In her later years, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law on their farm in Corinth. She was always willing to lend a helping hand in whatever was needed. She loved taking note of all the different birds that would frequent her feeders. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church in Scottsville for 37 years and served in many capacities over the years. When she moved to Vermont, she became a member of the Topsham Presbyterian Church and also served where she could. Her favorite duty was being the Church Sunshine–she would send cards and notes to those in need. She also worked at Wheatland-Chili Central School District for 38 years starting in the cafeteria and ending as Accounts Clerk in the District Office. Finally retiring at 79 years of age.
She is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Thomas) Loftus; two grandsons, Brendan and Ryan Loftus whom she adored; brother Timothy A. (Cora) Morse and many nieces and nephews.
Gail is predeceased by her husband, Gordon and son, Thomas; sister, Dolores Marlowe; parents, Foster and Margaret Morse.
A Memorial service will be held on October 14th at 2:00 at Topsham Presbyterian Church.
