Genevieve Dolores Perryman

Genevieve "Gene" Dolores (Ruch) Perryman, 83, died peacefully at Valley View Home for the Retired in Fairlee, VT on July 7, 2010, surrounded by her family. She was born August 28, 1926 in Teaneck, New Jersey. Gene married Herbert Ross Perryman in Englewood, New Jersey on April 24, 1949. They moved to Bradford, Vermont in 1955. Gene was a long time member of the Bradford United Church of Christ serving on many committees, a former Bradford Academy school board member, a trustee of the Bradford Public Library, and volunteered at the Bradford Food Bank for many years. In their retirement, Gene and Herb enjoyed travelling and camping throughout the United States and Canada and were proud to say they had visited all 50 states. One of Gene's greatest joys was spending time with her family, especially her 12 grandchildren and attending the wide variety of activities in which they participated. She is survived by her husband, Herb, and five children: Penny Randall and daughter, Tia, of Bradford; Mike Perryman, his wife, Cathy, and children, Christian, Erin and Emily of West Lebanon; Candy Perryman, her husband, Jeff Bonotto, and children, David and Crystal of Gold Beach, Oregon; Patty O'Neill, her husband, Kim, and children, Kane and Thomas of Windsor; and Tracey Smith, her husband, Dan, and children, Mallory, Drazen, Willow and Wren of Bradford. A celebration of her life will be held at the Bradford United Church of Christ on Friday, July 16, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. Gene wished that memorial contributions be made to one of the following: Bradford Public Library (PO Box 619, Bradford), the Bradford Food Bank (c/o Jenny Copeland, PO Box 684, Bradford) or the Bradford United Church of Christ (PO Box 387, Bradford). The Hale Funeral Home of Bradford, VT is in charge of arrangements.
