Fairlee, VT-Gloria Jeanne Flanders-Williams of Fairlee, VT passed away peacefully on September 2, 2014 following a long illness. She was born to Paul C. Flanders and Gladys Dickinson Flanders on Feb. 2, 1949. Known to her friends and family as Jeannie, she enjoyed visiting with friends, making crafts and spending time with her three grandchildren. Jeannie was a loving and caring daughter, mother and grandmother. After graduating from Thetford Academy in 1967 she moved to Texas where she met and married William S. Williams. They moved back to Fairlee where they raised their two children. Jeannie always had a gift for finding the silver lining in every situation and powering through the most difficult times with endless determination and grit. Jeannie was always there with a lending hand no matter what and always had a big smile for those with whom she came into contact. She will be sorely missed by those whose lives she touched. Jeannie was predeceased by her mother Gladys and brother Ted. She is survived by her two children; daughter Kelli Williams-LeRoux of Schenectady, NY, son Shannon Williams of Warren, MA, her three grandchildren Sophia LeRoux and Andrew & Jacob Williams, her father Paul Flanders, brother, James Flanders and his wife Eloisa, her sister-in-law Linda Flanders and long time companion Richard Pierson. Services are to be held at the Fairlee Community Church on Saturday, October 25, at One- o'clock with a graveside service following at the Fairlee cemetery on Rte. 5 in Fairlee. For those interested, refreshments will be served at the church following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society or the National Spasmotic Torticollis Association.
