Harold Lawrence Huntington

North Haverhill, NH- Harold Lawrence Huntington, 83, of North Haverhill, NH and a long time resident of Orford, NH died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at his home. He was born in Barre, VT the son of Harold and Laura ( LaLime) Huntington. He attended schools in Bradford, VT and was a graduate of Bradford Academy. After his schooling he enlisted in the United States Navy having served during World War II. After he was discharged he returned to Orford help his father run the family business known as Huntington Garage. He served Orford in many ways having been Police Chief, Fire Chief and Fire Warden. He was also employed for sixteen years as a fairway mower for Lake Morey Inn, and worked for the Town of Hanover, NH Public Works Department as there head mechanic also for sixteen years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, golf, eating seafood, and all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Huntington of North Haverhill, NH; two sons, Jeffery Huntington and wife Laurie of Piermont, NH and Blair Rich of North Haverhill, NH; two daughters, Corlene LeFebvre and husband Donald of Bradford, VT and Deena Hood of North Haverhill, NH; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one nephew Russell Brady of North Haverhill, NH. He was predeceased by one son, Eric Scott Huntington, one brother, Russell and one sister, Ruth "Marie" Brady. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 11 am in the Hale Funeral Home, Upper Plain, Bradford, VT. Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 pm. Burial will be private and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Orford Fire Department, c/o Arthur Dennis, Orford, NH 03768. The Hale Funeral Home of Bradford, VT is in charge of arrangements.
