Jeanette P. Ball

July 6, 1945 — February 11, 2024

Jeanette P. Ball passed away peacefully, holding her daughter's hand, surrounded by her two children and their families, as well as a very close and dear family friend of many, many years, Sheryl Tallman, at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH, on February 11, 2024. She was 78 years old.
Jeanette was born on July 6, 1945, in Orford, NH, to Norman and Grace Woodward. She attended Orford Grade Schools and Graduated Orford High School in 1963.
Jeanette married her high school sweetheart, Albert Ball, on July 27, 1963, and they were married for 58 and a half years, until Alberts passing in December, 2021. Together, they made their home and raised a family in Orford.
Jeanette's favorite thing to do was spend time with her family, especially her three grandsons, as well as having family gatherings, cookouts, celebrations, and get-togethers with friends. She and Albert loved to travel and enjoyed many trips together up and down the East Coast, from Maine to Florida, as well as many trips to Arizona, Las Vegas, California, Colorado, Nashville, and West Virginia, stopping at every yard sale and flea market along the way! They spent many summers at their favorite spot in Wells Beach, ME, as well as at Yankeeland Campground in Kennebunk, ME, where their daughter Diane and her family have a special place.
Jeanette's favorite past time was collecting a vast number of cookbooks of every kind, especially the small-town ring binder ones that have all the old family recipes in them. She spent many hours looking through them and trying new recipes to cook for her family. When she wasn't trying new recipes, making chocolate chip cookies for her grandsons, or doing something for someone else, as she often did, you could find her "puttering" in the house or one of the sheds out back. She loved to rearrange things and did so often.
Jeanette will be remembered for her kind heart and soul, her fierce love for her husband, children, and grandsons, always doing for others, and her fiery spirit.
Jeanette is survived by her son Steve Ball and Connie of Orford, NH, her daughter Diane Williams and Rich of North Hartland, VT, her grandsons Shayne Williams and fiancé Morgan Crane of Windsor, VT, Spencer Williams and Isabelle Smith of North Hartland, and Matthew Ball and Autumn Horniak of Orford, her brother Wendell Woodward and Linda of Orford, and friends too numerous to mention.
Donations in Jeanette's memory may be made to the Orford Lion's Club.
A celebration of Jeanette's life will be held in the Spring.
Arrangements are in the care of Hale Funeral Home, 187 Upper Plain in Bradford.
