Josephine Mae Barker

Josephine Mae Barker- Longtime resident of Post Mills, Vermont passed on the third day of spring 3/23/2012 at the age of 83. She leaves her beloved husband of 63 years- Lawrence A. Barker, three daughters- Cheryl Lyons and husband Dennis, Sheila Piper and husband Douglas, Tina Timmins and husband Gregory, and one son- Barry Barker and his wife Janice. Josephine was daughter of Zillah Mae and Thomas Brooke of Vershire. She was predeceased by her siblings Merrill, Katie, Grace, Harold, Ted and Marjorie. "Jo" spent her childhood on a farm and enjoyed her country life. She graduated from Thetford Academy where she met and married her beloved. She spent her life as a wife and mother, and cared for many area children in Post Mills over the years. She became very involved with Post Mills Congregational Church, and amongst other tasks taught Sunday school. She enjoyed crochet, gardening, camping and family get-togethers. She loved loyally and steadfast those she touched. She will be missed. In lieu of flowers-family requests donations can be made to Post Mills Congregational Church Services will be April 7th, 11am Post Mills Church, Post Mills, VT. There are no calling hours.
