Joyce Arlene McCarthy, 84 of Bradford died at her Cross Road home on Saturday, March 26th surrounded by family including her beloved canine companion Autumn McCarthy.
Joyce was born to Madeleine (Magoon) and Allen Rogers in West Fairlee on 02/26/1938 and attended local schools graduating from Thetford Academy.
Joyce spent her career working to care for others at UDS in Lyme and Blue Spruce in Bradford.
She enjoyed gardening, flea markets and puzzles as well as reading and watching the hummingbirds and family times including the annual pig-roasts and cookouts as well as trips to York beach, ME.
Joyce is survived by children Bambi (Almon) Porter of Maryland, Bernie (Tammie) Hazlett of Thetford, Tammy (Hope) Hodge of Nasua, NH and Wendy (Mike) Stygles of Piermont, NH as well as 13 Grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren and beloved dog Autumn McCarthy.
She was predeceased by her husband Jim McCarthy, Sisters Virgina Oakes, Sally Josler and brother Earl Rogers as well as great-granddaughter Hannah Hope Manning.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Katie Stygles for her unending support and care of Joyce these last weeks and to Cash, the most marvelous dog ever who stayed with Joyce day and night bringing Joyce great comfort in her last days. Thank you, Katie and cash, for your love!
