Our precious mother, Karen Marie May, 73, known to many of those who knew her as Kay, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill, NH.
Karen was born in Miami, Florida to Martin and Margaret May on September 9, 1949. From a very early age Karen knew that she wanted to be a mother more than anything. She fulfilled that lifelong dream with Timothy Giesing, Jr. starting in 1968, as mother to seven children: Sheena Campbell, Brenda Gray, Tammy Olsen, Mickey Giesing, Bruce Giesing, Mary Murray and Emma Downs.
She devoted her entire life to her children and family. Karen never wanted to be the center of attention, but without a single doubt, she was the heart and foundation of her family. Karen excelled at motherhood and was most comfortable in her home which was filled with family, love, and warmth.
Karen enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved flower gardening, crocheting, decorating her home, fashion, and Sunday dinners with her family. She was often covered in paint or dirt! Karen will be missed in so many ways, yet her unconditional love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved.
Aside from her children she doted on, Karen is survived by siblings, Kenneth May of Orford, NH, Sandra Collins of Oakdale, CT, as well as twenty-three grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Hale Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be held in the spring.
Hale Funeral Homes of Bradford, VT is in charge of arrangements.
