Knud (Ken) Jorgen Hansen, 84, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013 peacefully after many years with Alzheimer's in North Haverhill, NH. Ken was the beloved husband of the late Leah H. Hansen who passed on December 22, 2012. Knud was born on October 8, 1928 to the late Inger (Flensted) Hansen & Thorvald J. Hansen in Douglas, NB, Canada. Ken traveled cross-country with the Danish Gymnastics Team in the late 1940's and enjoyed telling his family stories of this amazing trip. Ken was very proud of his Danish heritage and taught his family many Danish traditions and was a member of the Danish Brotherhood of Connecticut. Ken was a dedicated dairy farmer all his life and had worked from 1956-1974 for both E.Welles Eddy & Roger Eddy on the Eddy Farm, Newington, CT and from 1974-1991 for Forrest Davis, DVM, on the Maplewood Farm in Granby, CT. He was passionate about farming whether it be working with the animals, the field work or the chores. Ken and Leah had retired to Piermont, NH where they lived for the next 16 years. Ken was known as a caring and gentle man and a friend to all who knew him. Ken will be sadly missed by his children, Brenda Z. Taylor (Charlie) of Enfield, CT, Eric K.T. Hansen (Melanie) of Sutton, VT and Kren Hansen (John) of Buels Gore, VT. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, Janna, Zetta, Jorgen (Melissa), Inger (Andru), Joshua, Harmony & Adeline; and 8 great-grandchildren, Logan, Dallas, Drew, Simon, Peyton, Kingsley, Caiden & Madison. Ken is survived by his brother, Robert Hansen (Phyllis) of Florida, and 2 sisters, Alice Ersboll of South Carolina and Elizabeth McCormick (John) of Ohio and also his sister-in-law, Donna Krupp of Swanton, VT. A private family memorial service will be held for both Ken & Leah on May 5 at the gravesite in Newport Center, VT
