Louise Elizabeth Mccutchen

April 19, 1917 — June 8, 2012

She attended Post Mills Elementary School and graduated from Thetford Academy in 1934. As a young woman, Louise learned to fly airplanes at the Post Mills Airport, bowled on a bowling league and was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox. She was a member of the Piermont Congregational Church. Louise was employed as a secretary for the Avery Vermont Inns and Hotels working at the Norwich Inn, Montpelier Tavern, Bonnie Oaks and Lake Morey Inn before retiring in 1978. Before moving to Bradford, first to Colonial Village where is made many friends, and then to Blue Spruce, she spent many years living next door to her sister, Marjorie and husband, Floyd in Post Mills, helping to take care of her mother and brother, Winston, also known as "Bootsie". Louise had resided at Blue Spruce since 2005 and received loving care from Sharon and Stewart Sylvester as well as their staff: Sherry, Rachel, Joyce, Jean, Nickie, and Clairissa. Louise loved living there and was very happy to be in their care. Louise is survived by her nephew, Roger Ricker and wife, Susan and their children, Brian, Justin and Stephanie, all of Post Mills. She was predeceased by her daughter, Shirley in 1977, brother, Winston in 1993 and sister, Marjorie in 1998. Donations in Louise's memory may be made to the Vermont Heart Association, 12 Hurricane Lane, Williston VT 05495. A graveside service will be held June 24, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Post Mills Cemetery in Post Mills VT. Pastor Roger Daum will officiate. Hale Funeral Homes, Upper Plain, Bradford VT is in charge of arrangements. The Hale Funeral Home of Bradford, VT is in charge of arrangements.
