Lurlene Robie McLam, 93, of Merritt Island, FL passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016. A native of Piermont, NH, Lurlene received nurses training at Barre City Hospital in Barre, VT and served as a nurse in the United States Navy during WWII. She moved to Merritt Island, FL in 1961 from Groton, VT. Lurlene worked at Cape Canaveral Hospital from 1962 to 1983 as a supervising nurse and also in the recovery room. She attended Grace Methodist Church. She was a member of Women of the Moose and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed quilting, ceramics, dancing, and traveling. Lurlene was preceded in death by her husband, Norman G. McLam in 1988; and brother, Keith Robie. She is survived by three sons: Fredrick McLam (Elaine), Donald McLam (Barbara), and Robie McLam (Jeannie); two brothers: Freeman Robie and Paul Robie; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Service held on June 4th, 1:00 pm, at Congregational Church in Piermont, New Hampshire. Burial to follow immediately after at the South Lawn Cemetery.
