Lyle Evelyn Downing

Newbury, VT- Lyle Evelyn Downing, 72, of Newbury passed away at her home on January 17, 2017.She was born in Washington, VT on October 4, 1944 the daughter of Lawrence and Hannah ( Wilcox) Downing.Lyle attended school in East Orange and worked several years at Maska in Bradford, VT, then she worked at Lake Morey Resort and later on at Dunkin Donuts in Woodsville, NH.She enjoyed trying different things, she had a great time going up in a Hot Air Balloon, taking a helicopter ride at the Haverhill Fair, she also enjoyed several trips including a Dude Ranch in Colorado and a cruise to Alaska and a trip to Texas and Florida.Lyle is survived by one sister, Mary Claflin and her husband Ralph of Orange, VT, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Arline Boudreau, Madeline Martell, Shirley Tillotson and Mabel Butler and one brother, Lawrence Downing Jr.Graveside funeral services will be held in the spring in the family lot in the Waits River Cemetery in Waits River, VT.
