Lynn Joy Goodrich

Lynn Joy Goodrich passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.She was born August 21, 1951 at Alice Peck Day Hospital in Lebanon, NH to George and Arlene (Clark) Goodrich. She grew up in Post Mills, VT with her seven siblings, graduating from Thetford Academy in the Class of 1969. Lynn was active in varsity softball, field hockey and the Glee Club.Lynn was married to Jack Norton in Bradford, VT, and during their marriage they lived in Germany due to Jack's military assignment. After returning to civilian life in Utica, NY, Lynn and Jack divorced. Lynn returned to Vermont living in Fairlee, Post Mills, and Lebanon, NH.Lynn was a hard worker and held several jobs at restaurants and manufacturing companies in the local area, finally retiring from DHMC. She was proud of her accomplishments as a Sterile Reprocessing Lead, and her certifications. She was active in the National Organization (ISHM) and she attended several national functions as a subject expert.Lynn was predeceased by her father and mother, George and Arlene Goodrich, her oldest brother, Lewis Goodrich, and a brother-in-law, Elwood Thurston (husband of Gloria).Survivors include four sisters, Gloria Thurston of West Fairlee, VT, Annabelle (Claude) Thurston of Post Mills, VT, Barbara (Gene) Fairbrother of Shoreman, VT, and Sondra (Tom) Hayden of Essex, VT, two brothers, David (Joyce) Goodrich of West Fairlee, VT, and Roy (Tammie) Goodrich of Post Mills, VT, and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Special note is made of Lewis' wife, Edna Goodrich of Post Mills, VT.Lynn had a great sense of humor, always telling jokes and waiting to hear a good one. She had the gift-of-gab and could talk with anyone with comfort. Her great joy was attending games and activities of her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was always giving whatever she could to others that she felt needed it more than she did. One of her great talents was sharing her home cooked meals with family and at community events.Funeral services will be held August 7, 2021 at 11 am at the Post Mills Cemetery, Post Mills, VT. Donations in her memory may be made to the Thetford Academy Ladies Varsity Sports Program, or the Thetford Academy Alumni Association. Arrangements are by Hale Funeral Home of Bradford, VT.
