Martha "Marty" Ann Smith

Newbury, Vermont: Martha Ann “Marty” Smith, 73, of Newbury, Vermont passed away peacefully July 27th 2022 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with her family by her side.
Marty was born May 24th, 1949 to Leon and Martha (Smith) Perkins. She graduated from Newbury High School and earned her BA from Champlain College.
She married the love of her life Ramon Smith in 1970. They have been married for 51 years and have two sons.
In her spare time Marty loved camping, yard sales, going to thrift stores, concerts and getting to the ocean in Maine anytime she could. She loved spending as much time with her grandchildren as she could.
Marty worked for the SAU Superintendent’s office as a Special Education Administrative Assistant until she retired in 2017. After a short while, she was bored with retirement and went to work part-time in the Lyme School Administrative Office. She worked there for two years before retiring completely.
Marty is survived by her husband Ramon Smith, Son Wayne and wife Connie and Son Shannon, Grandchildren Nikki and husband John, Nathan, Daniel, Zachary and Maddison. Great grandchildren, Weston, Landon, Danielle, Norrina, Joseph, and Layla. Her loving chocolate Labrador Jazmine and grand dog Spike. Her brothers, George (Nellie) Perkins, Chuck Perkins and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday, August 4th from 5-7pm at Hale Funeral Home in Bradford. A funeral is scheduled for1:00 Friday August 5th at the Newbury Congregational Church in Newbury, Vermont with burial to follow at the Oxbow Cemetery in Newbury.
