Corinth, VT- Norman Francis Thurston, 75, of Turkey Hill Road in Corinth died Friday, August 30, 2013 at Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin, VT. He was born on June 25, 1938 in Hanover, NH to Glen and Elizabeth (Wilson) Thurston. Norman was a life time farmer on the family farm in Corinth, VT. He also did odd jobs away from the farm on his John Deere Bulldozer, and also graded roads for Bill Martin. He was married to Harriet Rowell on July 27, 1958; Harriet predeceased him on April 22, 2003. He loved watching wrestling, playing with his great-grandchildren, being on the farm with his two son's and spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Francis Thurston and wife Carol and Philip Thurston and Wife Carol both of Corinth, VT; his daughter, Dottie Perkins and her husband Darryl of Ryegate, VT.; one brother, Clarence Thurston of Corinth, VT.; two sisters, Helen Carleton of CT and Shirley Eastman of Corinth, VT; twelve grandchildren; Wyndi, Wanda, Rachel, Devin, Derrick, Patrick, Luke, Makayal, Katie, Emma, Michael, Mary and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Clyde and Clifford Thurston and one sister, Doris Lezer. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 3 pm in the family lot in the East Corinth New Cemetery in East Corinth, VT. There are no calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to the Orange East Senior Center in Bradford, VT. The Hale Funeral Home of Bradford, VT is in charge of arrangements.
