Wentworth, NH- Robert Woodward Bliss, born January 8, 1921, he died October 3, 2016 peacefully in his sleep at his home in Wentworth, NH at the age of 95.He was predeceased by his parents, Donald C. and Florence (Clough) Bliss and sons Robert and Jon.He is survived by his spouse of 22 years, Susan (Dudley) Bliss; his daughter Donna and husband Robert Iriana of Little Rock, Arkansas; son Donald Bliss of Little Rock, Arkansas; and stepson Michael Dudley of Concord, Vermont, and stepdaughter Michelle Holt of Lebanon, New Hampshire. He also leaves three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Attended Hudson High School in Hudson, Massachusetts and graduated from Wilbraham Academy, Wilbraham, Massachusetts in 1939.He retired after 30+ years in the U.S. Air Force after seeing service in World War II and the Korean Conflict.After his active military service he owned Gardner Motors in Gardner, Massachusetts. Subsequently he was employed as manager of Kmart's automotive service department at Kmart in West Lebanon, New Hampshire until his retirement in 1986.He was a resident of Wentworth, New Hampshire for 23 years and was the most recent recipient of the Boston Post Cane as the oldest citizen in the town of Wentworth.Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and driving back roads.There will be no calling hours and, at Robert's request, no funeral services.
