Robert E. Plante, Jr. 87 years young, passed away March 19, 2022 at his home on Goshen Road with his loved ones by his side.
Robert was born in Manchester, NH on September 18, 1934. He graduated from St. Marie High School before he joined the Navy in 1950. In 1954 he married Madeline R. Kretschmar and they lived in Manchester and Bedford, NH until 1974. He ran a lunch truck and then he became a Real Estate Broker. Bob was an avid sportsman. He loved hunting and fishing and also did some trapping. He was a very friendly man and had quite a few good friends. He loved to play cribbage with his long-time friend David Chipman.
He is survived by his wife Maddie of 67 years, Six children – Muriel Lacourse of Manchester, NH, Paul from Newbury, VT, David from Bradford, VT and Michael from Corinth, VT, Anne-Marie from Bradford, VT and Louise and Buddy Mahar from Cortland, NY. He had 20 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren, a sister Jeannine Bruneau of Bradford, VT. He was predeceased by two brothers Charles Plante, Sr., and Leonard Plante, sister-in-law Nancy Plante, a granddaughter Vanaca Plante and great granddaughter Paige Priestley, his mom and dad Robert Sr. and Gabrielle Viviers.
At his request there will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
