Roger W Anderson Jr

East Corinth, VT- Roger W. Anderson Jr., 84, of East Corinth, VT died January 27, 2011 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in White River Jct., VT. He was born on December 30, 1926 in the West haven, CT the son of Roger and Dora (Brown) Anderson Sr. He attended West Haven High School while in high school he enlisted in the Merchant Marines serving two years during the World War II and then attended the University of Connecticut graduating in 1952. He then was drafted into The United States Army serving during the Korea War. Mr. Anderson then went to work in the insurance field and retired from General Accident as a head field man. He and his wife moved to Vermont on June 3, 1987 where they have since made their home. He enjoyed reading, flea markets, traveling throughout the United States and Canada. He is survived by his wife, Doris Anderson of East Corinth, VT.; one daughter, Sharon Monroe of Norwood, MA.; two sons, Peter Anderson of Killingworth, CT and Robert Anderson of Branford, CT.; six grandchildren; one sister Karen Whitcomb of Charlottesville, VA. A memorial service will be held on February 12, 2011 at 11 am in the St. John's Episcopal Church in North Gilford, CT. There are no visiting hours.
