Ronald Wade Gregory Getz passed away suddenly at 63 years old, on October 12th 2021, in a tragic vehicle accident. Ron, also known as Rondo Hoi or Stix, was born on October 26th 1957 in Camden, NJ to the late Albert and Dorothy Getz. The family would travel up to Vermont during the summers and vacation in Newbury, where the kids learned to appreciate what country living was. Ron and his wife moved up to Vermont in 1988, built a home, and had two girls. He became a self employed contractor (not a roofer), while drumming in the best band there ever was, The Traveling Newbury's. Ron enjoyed playing and jamming out to music every chance he got, visiting and chatting with friends, reading and learning Vermont history, and driving up to Tucker Mountain.
Ron is survived by his daughter Hilary and Cody James, along with his pride and joy, his grandson Colton James, of Johnson City, TN, and his daughter Allison and Daniel Naylor of Piermont, NH. His brothers Bob and Sue Getz, Joe and Carol Getz, Larry and Lorraine Getz, as well as several nieces and nephews, all residing in New Jersey. Ron is preceded by his brother Tom Getz.
The family would like to thank everyone who made it out to the Celebration of Life, and the memorial service was held privately.
